The Spring 2019 series will begin on Sunday February 24th with Black Market Reverie, a unique combination of New Orleans Bayou and French Cabaret Jazz followed by the legendary Barbara Morrison and her trio on Sunday, March 24th and the final concert on April 28th, The Eclectic Collective, will feature Jamie Perez with the Nick Mancini Collective, a nine piece band including such jazz front-runners as saxophone tour de force, Danny Janklow and the amazingly gifted jazz pianist Michael Ragonese in a concert of improv'd standards, originals and Elton John tunes that will blow your mind. (All concerts begin at 5pm.)
It's been so exciting to produce this wonderful jazz series here in Pasadena in cooperation with Neighborhood UU Church these past 2 years. and to watch it steadily grow and be met with such enthusiasm.
What a thoroughly satisfying experience it is to be entertained by world-class jazz musicians and to know that our enjoyment and support of this series is also helping in some small measure to fund much needed social justice programs within the community that are tackling some of the most pressing needs we face.
